Cable television service Virgin Media marked the launch of The Dark Knight Rises on its movies on demand service by staging a grand screening of the blockbuster from Christopher Nolan from a tower block in Central London.
The screened aimed to mimic the scenes of Gotham City taken from the DC Comics trilogy, whilst the original costumes of Batman, Bane and Catwoman all featured along with several other props from the film and an appearance from Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler.
The Dark Knight is now available to Virgin Media customers and can be accessed through the movies on demand service which can be accessed through the Virgin Media cable television service. Subscribers to Virgin Media can watch the film for £3.99 in standard definition or obtain the entire movie in high definition for £1 extra.
Lucky viewers at the screening were also treated to a Dark Knight goodie bag, and other items such as hats and gloves for braving the freezing temperatures.
Virgin Media has also rebranded its movies on demand service to Virgin Movies which features a range of different titles including classic films and the latest releases straight from the cinema. Titles on Virgin Movies start from £2.99 and some of these are also available in high definition and 3D.
