Sky Sports the digital television sports channel from Sky has agreed a new deal to televise NBA Basketball until the end of the season and will celebrate with the screening of next week’s London Live games.
Sky has been in talks with the NBA since November 2012 and has completed the deal in time for the showcase game which will be broadcast live from the O2 in London and features the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons.
Satellite broadcaster Sky will show the live game on its Sky 3D channel making it the first NBA game played in the UK to be broadcast in 3D.
Sky’s coverage will then continue on Sky Sports with live Sunday night games, followed by the NBA playoffs, the Eastern Conference Finals and the NBA Finals in June concluding the NBA Basketball season.
In addition to the Sky Sports coverage, digital television customers with the ESPN range of digital television sports channels will also be able to watch live games broadcast on a weekly basis. For customers with both Sky Sports and ESPN they will be able to watch up to five games per week.
