The Virgin Media TiVo set top box brings in a new generation of digital television.  With the ability to ‘learn’ about your favourite television programs, not only does the Virgin Media TiVo set top box show you programs you might like to watch, but it also has a wide range of high definition content.

You can access all of Virgin Media’s channels in standard and high definition on the new Virgin Media TiVo box, and it is also capable of playing back 3D content from its TV on demand service which shows a large amount of 3D content including 3D movies, and 3D TV shows.

Not only that, but the Virgin Media TiVo box also has an inbuilt PVR meaning that you can pause, rewind and forward live TV, and you can also record all of your favourite shows from your favourite Virgin Media channels.  There are two versions of the box with different size hard drives.  The hard drive stores all of the programs that you record, so the larger this is the more content you can record without having to worry about deleting it.

The 1TB (Terabyte) box, allows you to record 500 hours of standard definition TV or 100 hours of high definition TV, and there is also a 500GB version which stores around half of this amount on the set top box hard drive.

However the biggest feature of the new TiVo set top box from Virgin Media is the fact that you can now search for a program from its on demand catalogue.  You can find shows based on an actor, or a name, and even a director of a program.  The TiVo box will search the ‘what’s on’ or ‘what’s coming up later’ catalogues and will also search Virgin Media’s TV on demand service and web services such as Youtube to find that program that you really want to watch.

If you don’t know what to watch, the TiVo box will go one better, and even find programs that you would like to watch based on your viewing habits.  So whilst you watch all of your shows, the TiVo box is learning about you and what your viewing habits are, meaning that you’ll never miss a show and probably discover some new ones that you really like!
