At first glance, Virgin Media’s standard box looks basic when compared to other set top boxes that are available in the market, but don’t be fooled!  This box comes complete with the ability to show Virgin Media’s high definition content, and can also access the vast amount of content that is available on Virgin Media’s video on demand service.  There is also access to Virgin Media’s EPG (Electronic Program Guide).

The V HD box also gives you the ability to access services like BBC iPlayer, and Channel 4’s 4oD TV on demand service so that you can watch all of the programs you want to watch at a time that suits you from both BBC and Channel 4.

The V HD box includes a HDMI output for playback of high definition content from Virgin Media, and there is also a SCART connection.  The V HD box also has an optical audio output so that you can connect it up to a stereo amplifier and get digital quality sound on your favourite Virgin Media channels.
